we have the mothercare ones which are great. they have lots of different sizes and are reasonably priced. Good luck.

we just bought the Lindam Numi Premium Extending Aluminium Safety Gate which looks so smart but might be a bit of a hassle for stairs (we use it in between sitting room and kitchen!)

Just a thought - do you actually need child gates? I've never had stairgates and my four children are all still in one piece. It takes a bit more effort as you have to be extra vigilant for a time but they then learn how to go up and down stairs safely making it much easier when you go somewhere where there are no stairgates.

We have the kiddyguard ones that roll up, like roller blinds. Expensive but we like them. Be warned when looking for guards in a Victorian terrace, you need to be careful to get ones that will work with your space ie if attaching to bannisters not all will work (due to curved bannisters) and I couldn't find any pressure fix ones that would work (although there may of course be some that would).

Can anyone please recommend good stairgates? They are for a Victorian property, but I don't mind attaching them to the wall if that's necessary.

Thanks
