Hypnobirthing - first hand account

by ThePeelClinic » Mon Dec 19, 2011 11:30 am

If anyone would like a first had account of what it was like having hypnobirthing my daughter-in-law used it for her first child about 2 years ago and is using it again now for her second child due in March.

She went with her husband on a short evening course and had a brillant outcome as she was in and out of hospital within about 24 hours, no need for drugs or gas and now has a bonny bright little boy. One of her hospital midwives, who was pregnant at the time, was so impressed she then went on the have hypnobirthing herself.

As a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist myself with many years of experience I would recommend going on a course as you will be with other couples and often the therapist will also be a trained and experienced midwife.

As I work in the area of Pychological Infertility I am from time to time asked by my infertility clients to train them in hypnobirthing techniques when they get pregnant but in truth it is more expensive to do it one-to-one so a course is a less expensive option and there are a number of courses in London to choose from.

If anyone would like a copy of my daughter-in-laws full account of her hypnobirthing experience and birth I am happy to email it to you and will send you the details of the course she went on which I think was held in Notting Hill or Paddington area I will have to check.
