I would also recommend Vern Hill - vh-pt.co.uk. I take my children with me to training - 3yrs and 9 months - and Vern talks to them and keeps and eye out for them. A friend also trains with him and used to take her baby when much younger, and if the baby got upset, Vern would strap him on in a Baby Bjorn, or otherwise calm him down, and continue to the training session. I started training after my second child and he and his team really know how to deal with post-natal issues. I did buggy fit after my first child, but training with Vern is far more effective and more fun, and the small drop-in/ group classes plus the gym (which is child friendly - baby bouncer/ travel cot etc) make it cost effective too.

Buggyfit Wandsworth common have smaller groups and it starts with a gentle walk. Finishes with a good cardio workout and pelvic floors.
I loved it and found lots of friends there too.

I used to go to Buggyfit on Clapham common most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Whilst the classes can be quite large as whole NCT groups tend to go together, especially on good weather days. The workouts are very good. Often the instructor sets up circuits which allow you to work at your own pace. So you can really push it even if others in the class aren't so energetic. Unfortunately as the weather got colder and my son became less amenable to sitting in a pushchair for an hour we had to stop going.

Pilates and Body Back at the Nuffield Health Centre - you can take your baby and Vanessa who teaches the Body Back class is fab. And since I started eating properly, it has been working too!

Hi there,

There is a fab pilates teacher who works in the area, and she has a mum and baby pilates class at Northcote Library. I haven't been to this specific class (I go to her evening beginners class) but she is a great teacher and I started seeing and feeling a difference almost straight away. Her website is http://www.pilatespluswellness.com.

Hope you find something you enjoy.

I use Vern Hill personal training http://www.vh-pt.co.uk/, which I love. He specialises in pre and post natal exercise. Don't be put off by the fact it's personal training. If you see him or one of the other trainers one on one it's expensive, but he does drop in classes which normally have 2-4 people in them for £20 a session. He has a gym next to Wandsworth Common station and also trains on Wandsworth Common. You can bring your baby along to any of the sessions.

Hi

My baby is 8 weeks old and I feel it's time to make some attempt at getting my pre baby body back (I tried on my old jeans recently - there's alot of work to do!).

I live near Wandsworth Common/ Northcote and wondered if you could share recommendations for local fitness classes that I can bring my baby along to.

The ones I have been looking at include: Buggyfit, Buggycise and Boxing Mummies. Have any of you tried any of these?

Thanks!
