I can highly recommend Claire Djali.

Claire got us through a major relationship crisis 18 months ago and 'saved' our marriage. She can do home visits which worked well for us as she came in the evenings when the children were asleep so we didn't need to get a babysitter.

If we ever go off the rails again I wouldn't hesitate to work with her.

I don't have her number but just googled her and found her details on http://www.wimbledoncounselling.co.uk

All the best with whoever you choose to work with.

Just type in 'relationship counselling' and 'your area'. A list should come up, it did when I did this (and I am not sure where you live, but sure it will too). Then read through all of them, select your top 5, from which ones feel good, have the sort of experience you might need, or resonate with you.

Go to their websites and check credentials. Make an appointment with your top 3 and have a check-in with them. Some will do this for free, others you will have to pay. This may sound expensive, and time consuming, but really those first conversations are going to be helpful regardless. They will help you define your issues and where they might come from.

Then reflect for a few days and choose the one that has left most positive impact. This may sound a bit of a long process, but these things are highly personal, you click with one and not with the other sort of thing. Besides if you are going to spend a number of sessions with someone talking about something highly personal and incredibly important to your life, it really is worth shopping around.

If you need a more direct recommendation, try re-root in Richmond.

Good luck.

I've used Elizabeth Bracken, she's based at Clapham Common Westside.

Relationship counsellors

Just wondering if anyone has first-hand experience with relationship counselling?

I'm aware of Relate, and have heard their quite good but I think it depends on the individual counsellor you get, so if anyone has any recommendations, I'd be very grateful!
