If you have a British passport then the application should be a quick turnaround as your citizenship is proven and your child will take their citizenship from you. You can speed things up a little by going via the check n send service at the Post Office who will ensure you have filled the paperwork correctly and the passport photos are up to specification. You have to pay for this service.
