Not window boxes but on Friday I had the screw caps of my car's tyre valves pinched on Northcote Road....at lunchtime! Value? about 75p?? Last week someone took one of my wiper blades off near Clapham South!! Daytime again. I'm not aware that I have a stalker/thief but gosh give me a break or at least just take the whole car.

I think I must be rather lucky, I managed to drive off leaving our front door open and only came back 30 mins later. Nothing gone *amazingly*.
I am on the slightly scruffier side of wandsworth, but still... maybe the scumbags aren't up at school run time.

Did any of you ever hear back from the police about your stolen boxes/trees.... I still haven't heard anything, although I reported it at the time, so not sure whether to call them, or assume it might not be the same bloke!

Just had the following tweet from Wandsworth Met Police Service: "we have, quite literally, just recovered a truck load of bay trees. If yours have gone missing, please report it: online.metpolice.uk"

use them anywhere. they have a sensitivity function. put them in the pot and when it's lifted it will activate. worth a fiver methinks.

after our side return was broken into and my bike stolen, I found these trembler alarms which would work to protect trees etc. you can find them on ebay and are about the size of a mobile phone. when moved they activate an ear piercing alarm which should shock and deter the thieves (unless they know you're out I guess).

The thieves are obviously pretty mobile, or several groups of them are operating in the area, as we also had our window boxes and bay tree and planter stolen last night from Strathville Road in Earlsfield. When I phoned the police they told me at least two other houses in the street were also targeted.

We'd only had our plants and tree just over a month!! I just find this sort of low life petty crime so gobsmackingly annoying. I was livid!!! The cheek of it!!! Where do the thieves sell all these plants and trees I'd like to know?

Have a look here - the police have arrested a bay tree thief from this area and no-one is claiming the trees. Are they yours?

Spotted this on the Telegraph on Monday....

Also someone sent me this link.

I spoke to the police and they caught the guy on the 27th April so if your trees were stolen after this date chances are that its another thief (although the guy they caught is out on bail so I guess it could be him ?).

Anyway worth a call .... my planter is getting firmly bolted to the ground at the weekend !

Yep, I have just had 4 Bay Trees dug up from my front garden on Lyminge Gardens SW18. This so common - some thing needs to be done. I am contacting to police...
