What a tragic situation. It is such a terrible disease and a lonely, terrifying experience for anyone who has been touched by it. I have thought about this so much since it happened and pray that she and her husband can find some peace at some point.

If we can find any positive in this, let it be that we talk more about the struggles which can follow having a baby, without fear of being judged or labelled. I am so pleased that there is a new support group in an area where a lot of people live so far away from their families.

I can speak from experience that even the most intelligent and switched on people can't see these mums crumbling before their very eyes.
I have people in my family in the medical profession and they could not see how unwell I had become. I wouldn't wish this horrible illness on anybody.

Get help and quickly. If doors close, keep banging on them.

Such a tragic story. Nothing but sympathy for everyone involved.

Can only marvel at what a wonderful and understanding man the dad must be for standing by his wife - so good that he has the strength of character to know that his wife was seriously ill when she did what she did.

What i find so sad is, that from earlier posts and what i've heard on the radio, mothers, with the right help will recover from PND. This poor woman therefore will recover and then will have to live with the fact she killed her two beautiful children. It's heartbreaking.

Her husband is standing by her, which is amazing, and i really do wish them all the best for the future, whatever that may bring.

The coverage in the Daily Mail is so distressing.

PND is a serious and secretive illness. I have personally suffered very severely and not got enough help despite being in nappy valley where everything is on your doorstep. One in four of us suffer from it.

I had GP and private health access and nobody understood how ill I was. With 2 hours sleep per night, the GP helpfully told me to go for a run. Quite the wrong advice!

I am so passionate about helping others that I have become a trustee of the Cedar House Support Group and with my colleagues are launching a new PND GROUP for Clapham in January 2013.

Thoughts are with the poor lady and her family

I really don't think that we should speculate on what should happen - we don't have the full facts available

Whatever happens, this is truly tragic and sad for all. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. May the little ones rest in peace.

I'm interested to hear people's views on the final outcome.

Should she go to jail for life?
Should she be detained for life?
Should she be in a psychiatric unit for life?

My thoughts are no to the above but the sadness she will feel for the rest of her life over this I'm not sure she will ever overcome it. Very very sad for her and the family. Her body must be breaking with sadness right now.

My Wandsworth Guardian came through the door today and they are reporting this tragedy very sympathetically.
