Hi. I had very bad arthritis pain after giving birth. It was so bad that I could hardly walk when I got up in the morning. After scans and blood tests it turned out that I was very deficient in vitamin D. I was prescribed vitamin D in liquid form and after a couple of weeks it had completely disappeared. I took it for about 2 months in total and it has never come back. That was two years ago. It might be worth starting with a simple blood test with your GP before spending a fortune on physio etc. none of that made any difference to me and I only discovered that after I had spent the money.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi,

While I can't recommend a specialist, I can suggest something that worked wonders for my post birth arthritic pain - krill oil. I experienced bad joint pain in both hands after giving birth and after 2 days of taking the capsules the pain decreased markedly.

My friend had non pregnancy related arthritis (he's a man!) that was so bad he couldn't even clench his fist but after 2 weeks of taking krill oil he said he received full pain relief.

The capsules are expensive but worthwhile.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone suffer or know anyone who suffers from post partum arthritis? I am looking for a specialist in London and treatment for this condition so if any of you have any information, please email me. Thanks!
