Thanks HOla - its not me that has the laptop problem any more. If your husband requires an IT business analyst though then I am more than happy to pass my details on :D

Hi Mrs Contractor Mum,
My husband should be able to help you; he's an IT consultant with many years of experience with both PC and Mac. If you'd like to have a chat with him here's his contact info:

Have you filled up the hard drive as that can cause these sorts of problems?
I had a similar issue a while back and after getting it fixed (I used a local computer repair shop in Tooting Bec), I purchased a terrabyte hard drive and now store all photos, videos etc on that. The cost of repair was about £70 and they did manage to save all my images and documents.
Hope you get it fixed.

Laptop help

Can anyone recommend a techy person to help fix my laptop? It had a few viruses on it and my husband downloaded an anti virus software and since then it won't load. The laptop turns on but when it tries it go through the start up it stops working and says that start up failed.

I'm desperate to get it fixes but don't want to pay PC World rates and I'm worried cos all of my photos of my little ones are on it.

If anyone can recommend someone reasonably priced that would be great.
Thanks.
