Hi there,

I just moved FROM Paris to London about 2 months ago and never found a website exactly like this. This is a great site and it is a lot like a few in New York, when I used to live there before Paris.

The messageparis.org is a good website. Also, there is a good website where you can find babysitters and nannies: http://www.bebe-nounou.com/

Also, if you need a cleaning woman, you can find a good one here: http://www.fee-du-logis.com/index.htm

For events, shops, restaurants, as well as links for just about anything, check out http://hipparis.com/

Good luck!

Bon demenagement!

Hiya,

We are moving to Paris end Oct for my husband's job. He's been commuting over there on the Eurostar every week since April and I'm now pregnant with baby #2 so we're moving over when I start my maternity leave.

Have done a bit of research and there is an organisation called 'Message' who are a support group for English speaking mums and mums2b living in Paris. It's a membership organisation that have been around since the 80s, send monthly newsletters, organise get-togethers/picnics, provide breast-feeding support etc. Basically it sounds a bit like an NCT for expats in Paris! They also publish a guide called 'The ABCs to Parenting in Paris' which you get when you sign up (it's members only and you pay fees depending on the time of year when you sign up).

Anyway you can find out more at http://www.messageparis.org (or google message paris and it'll come up in the search findings).

We have signed up - to be honest the more English support out there we can get the better - so well worth it for us - and quite a few people have recommended this organisation to us so think they have a good reputation...

Hope this helps. Am sure there will be other parenting sites but at least this provides you with a starting point! :-)

Moving to Paris

Hello

We are considering moved to Paris for my husband's job and I wondered if there were any similar websites to NappyValleyNet.com. I speak french so it doesn't need to be for expats.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks
