After trying various things including some of those listed here my son finally cracked touch typing with after school and holiday lessons at the Dyslexia Teaching Centre in Kensington - www.dyslexiateachingcentre.co.uk - and is now doing fantastically at school - just sat the last of 4 AS levels today and we thought it unlikely he would even get that many GCSEs until he was typing! They help with all sorts of other tuition for children with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD etc etc.

Can anyone recommend a touch typing intensive summer holiday course for a (non-dyslexic) 15 year old? It would clearly be more attractive to her if there were others of her age group rather than one aimed at primary school children. Sadly she has never had touch typing taught at school and has been resistant to being sent on a course 'til now. Breaking her hand earlier this year has left her with pain and cramp when writing for prolonged periods - hence the change of heart.

My ten year old is dyslexic and did a weekly course with Naomi Martin over the half term and I cannot recommend it highly enough. He was quite nervous about doing the course (and somewhat reluctant initially) but after the first day he couldn't wait to go back!
Naomi actually makes it fun for them to learn how to type and her teaching style is clearly very effective. It is amazing what she achieves in just one week. I shall certainly be sending my daughter back when she is old enough (you also get a 20% discount for any further courses). She is worth every penny!

I have understood it. This is the way it works:

1. You need the chrome browser (this is the browser google has created). If you do not have it you can google it to download
2. Install the "open dyslexic" font extension for chrome browser (provided link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search-extensions/open%20dyslexic?hl=en )
3. Once installed, once you visit any Internet Site, you will read it in the Open Dyslexic font

I have tried it with my computer using the chrome browser and it is working correctly. Not only for my site, but for each site on the Internet.
Once installed, you can switch on/off this extension as required (selecting menu->Tool->Extensions) to change from standard font to open dyslexic font.

My child used program from www.Englishtype.com which was great. Lots of motivational games as rewards and not expensive.

I am really interested in this idea ....I am training to be a teaching and so you touched a nerve!! This won't directly help you but I think you have opened a can of worms...
I use a site www.touchtyping.com that is brilliant...So in theory all you need is an adapted key board and for the Font on screen to be user compatible ...
I only found one place in Bath that offers course!!!
I have emailed this idea onto my daughter and my husband who are graphic designers, web builders ( generally techie people)
I am also going to write to admin@goodtyping and see what they can come up with....could you mail them too
