I went to the same course as Starry eyes last month with Hynoclinic and also took a 2 day course with Reshma.

Not what I expected to be honest ( in a good way!) I attended because my husband said it would be helpful for my anxiety. I was dragged there as I was sceptical!

The course was excellent! blew my mind away! Amazing relaxation techniques with a lively style of teaching, which kept me interested and the right amount of emphasis on the power of your mind. It was practical and definitely worth it! I'm really excited about the birth now and love using the breathing techniques I was taught.

I've signed up to a course with Reshma that starts in a couple of months :) Her success rates are really high from what I heard! My sister attended her class a couple of years ago and had a brilliant birth and everyone except one couple gave birth pretty much naturally. :D

When my sister attended there was a couple who had flown in from Qatar! just because they had been recommended from their friends who did a private session with her.

There are so many new teachers out there now so its difficult to decide who's good and who isn't and a lot of them have just not long qualified, charging ridiculously cheap offers, so be careful to find out how long they've been teaching.... Cheap doesn't necessarily mean fantastic course. Reshma's courses are a reasonable price too.

I am not on commission or anything! Just super excited about attending the course as it is my first baby so I have done lots of research!!!!
Good luck with whoever you decide to go with!

Hello all, My name is Reshma, I used to teach from the Vitality centre in SW18, until very recently finding a new location.
After 7 years of teaching at the Vitality centre and the centre having new management, I decided to relocate up the road to South Wimbledon on the northern line in SW19 :-) I also teach from another location on Hampstead high street NW3, which I have also been teaching from for 7 years. Hypnoclinic are one of the first and top Hypnobirthing Specialists in the UK which I am very proud to share.
Our courses are fun and packed with lots of useful information and life transforming skills and techniques. You will leave feeling empowered not only for the birth but for other areas of your life too! Come and join onto one of our fantastic courses at either location, where I'll provide a space for you to achieve a really calm and positive birth!
For further information and to receive a FREE download (in an English voice!) please visit http://www.hypnoclinic.net or call me on 07939 925 302
I look forward to hearing from you!
Warm regards Reshma

If you are still looking for a HypnoBirthing course in SW11, I will be teaching a weekend intensive on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of August in Nansen Road, Clapham Common Northside.

Alternatively, I also teach the course spread out over four weeky evening sessions in South Kensington (close to the tube station). The next course there starts on Wednesday 1st August from 7-9.30pm (remaining dates are 8th, 15th and 22nd August).

You are very welcome to give me a ring on 07746 821 877 if you would like further information. My website is: www.raniklockner.com. If you have already found a course, enjoy it! HypnoBirthing really is a wonderful and wholesome way to prepare for your little one's birth.

Thanks!

The Vitality Centre and Awareness Centre one day courses look ideal. Would love to hear from anyone who has tried them.

Gemma's classes also look good but I must admit I'm a bit put off by the length of the course (and the £300 price tag) and the strict instruction that the father must attend ALL sessions - I suspect my husband would be unlikely to make it out of work on time often enough!

I can really recommend Gemma. My husband and I did a course with her in January 2011. She is a really lovely lady and has lots of good advice to share. Hypnobirthing really worked for me (though when I was at home being told by the hospital I had a long way to go as it was my first I had some doubts). As it happens I was a few hours away from having my baby and had a pretty relaxed waterbirth with the very lovely midwives at St George's (once they believed I was in labour that is)!

Hi
Gemma Morris is based in Balham and this is her website is www.happybirthdaybaby.co.uk

I did not use her for my actual course but I met her a number of times through my teacher who is unfortunately no longer taking them. She was one of her clients (a success story) who has gone on to become a teacher.

Good luck & I hope the classes work as well as they did for me.

I haven't tried them so can't vouch in any way but I know there are regular classes run at the Vitality Centre in sw18:

Belated thanks for these recommendations/responses!

Just wondered if anyone knows a class or course a bit closer to me - sw11/sw12/sw4/sw18. (lazy I know!)

Hi there. I am a Natal Hypnotherapy practitioner, having trained with Maggie Howell. My workshops are held at Gooseberry Bush, about 5 minutes walk from Wimbledon South tube station so very handy for the Northern line.
You will find more details, dates etc. on my website http://www.birthconfidence.com
Was at a fab Conference on Hypnosis for Childbirth only last week and met many other therapists, Hypnobirthing, Natal Hypnotherapy etc, - all working towards the same end.
All the best.

I did a course with Judith Flood, a midwife and experienced hypnobirthing teacher who runs courses at St Thomas', somewhere in SE Ldn and privately. She was excellent and I found the hypnobirthing approach much more effective than I'd expected when it came to being in labour.
