What an incredible story. I run the First Aid training for Nightingale School and I was so impressed at the caring, skilled and dedicated staff work working there. There is a boxing ring in the centre of the school for students where a trained coach helps them to release some of their aggression. The staff are so skilled and are making a real difference.

The farm is a fabulous addition and will make a real difference.

I have just read the article in the Telegraph link. What an amazing story, and one which is a massive lesson to us all.

Losing a child at whatever age is a tragedy, but this couple have done the only sane thing in trying to make sense of this terrible crime.

I am not religious, but I hope that they can find some sort of peace, knowing that they are doing a massive service to the community in helping this school in their sons name.

Wish I had seen this sooner, definitely would have taken the kids! Another nice place to go is Deen City Farm as you can get hands on with the animals, if you want to feed the animals it is best to get there before 12 as there is often a queue - they only sell a certain amount of food to avoid overfeeding! They also have a riding school, not sure how expensive it is for lessons.....

I took my 2 yo this morning. It was great, although my son was a little afraid of the bigger animals. The Farm Manager was quite overwhelmed by the turn out this morning. Word has certainly got around!

He mentioned they are having another open day in a month or so. There will be piglets on the farm by then. One mummy pig was due 3 days ago, the other is due in 3 weeks.

Definitely recommend for a free activity (or donation).

Went to Tom's farm this morning with my son 8, daughter 6 and 1 year old that I like look after. The young one was quite frightened specially with the lamb and the little dog. My daughter said that was better than Gosdtone farm which she loves it because she could really stroke the pig, lamb, sheep, bunnies, chicken, duck, etc.
Kieron-farm manager and Cheslsea were fantastic! They gave us a lovely tour and explained all sorts of things about the friendly animals that are living in the farm at the moment.
They didn't charge us anything but we gave a donation to support such a good cause.
Definitely worth a visit.

Me & my two children (11&3) have just come back from this new farm. It's amazing, the staff are lovely & I really reccomend you all pop along you can even go in the pens with the animals which my two loved. They are also hopin to open the farm on a regular basis ie Sundays for families where their hoping to sell the produce they are growing.

The farm is called Tom's Farm and it will be open this week only 10-3, Tuesday- Friday. It is in Nightingale School, on the corner of Beechcroft Rd and Burntwood Lane. Not sure what/if they are charging admission.
