Both my children, a girl and a boy, have been to Parkgate since they were 2.5. They had the most wonderful years, and done fantastically well at their exams for senior London Day Schools. We loved the fact that they were co-ed, and they have both continued in single sex schools for their senior years. Our son had a place at Eaton House at 8, but as he said, mummy this is not the school for me! We decided to listen to him and we are happy we did so. Parkgate seems to be doing all the right things without the pressure. We never felt that there was any lack of space and they have plenty of v local venues they are using for some of their events and activities.

Hi,

Mine currently go to the nursery at Eaton House and are starting at the preschool next September. They love it and the teachers have been amazing. I would of preffered co-ed education but I've also heard about the amazing benefits to single sexed.

Great facilities.

Parkgate or Eaton House the Manor?

Hi everyone,

I know that the question has been asked on this forum a while back but I was hoping there may be some more recent views. Our daughter currently attends Parkgate Nursery and absolutely loves it. The environment is very warm and caring which allowed her to settle in very quickly, despite not being the most confident of children. The teachers are great and very good at communicating back to parents/carers. We also have a younger boy who is very active and confident. We are likely to have places at both Parkgate and Eaton House for both of them by the time they start Reception. I think we are unlikely to have them attend different schools for logistical reasons. I actually love both schools but can’t help thinking that the facilities at Eaton House are better (sports halls, science labs, arts room) and that the rooms at Parkgate are on the small side? Of course Parkgate is co-ed which we initially preferred but we can actually see benefits of both co-ed and single sex education. I understand that both schools are relatively international and therefore cater for children whose first language is not English (we are French). I have heard Eaton House being referred to as a “hothouse” but I am not sure how much truth there is in this. Of course we all want our children to be successful but we want them to be educated in a nurturing and supportive environment that still lets them be children. I would welcome any thoughts or views which would help us decide between the two schools.

Thanks very much!
