What about Bruges? There's a chocolate museum there and plenty of cafes/window shopping. When we went, it was quite easy to get to via Eurostar+transfer to a high-speed train.

I thinking a snowy European city will be really lovely.

NY would be a bit rushed in 2/3 days I think.

Second Prague, it's a lovey very walkable city. Will be freezing but sitting in the square with mulled wine or hot chocolate is great.

I loved Milan when I went earlier in the year. Great shopping, food, bars and galleries/museums.

Edinburgh is always brilliant.

Hi there,

I had a lovely weekend in Prague about this time of year and would definitely recommend it. Lovely restaurant right on Charles Bridge. Same goes for Rome - really easy and does not matter what the weather does.

However, if you decide to stay in this country... can I suggest The Drunken Duck up in the Lake District or The Beckford Arms in Somerset. I am thinking log fires, snuggled up walks and pub suppers. Bliss!

Although the weather can't be guaranteed, I've been to Barcelona in Feb at least 2/3 times where the weather was low 20s and sunny. Its a quick flight and loads of museums, culture, restaurants, night life etc.
In case you want a bit more sunshine, you can head a bit further south to Seville which is also a fantastic city.

Hello,
Im organising a weekend away in february as a surprise for my husband. It's the first time we have been able to leave the kids and I'm really only brave enough to do it for two nights, three at a push. BUT, i'm totally stuck on location. With the February weather and two night restriction, do you have any suggestions on somewhere interesting, cool, an activity? We love cafes, bars, eating out, people watching, museums, walking in towns, music..... New York would be great (we have been) but im not sure it is possible time-wise, same with New Orleans, italian cities perfect but the weather? Iceland, copenhagen too cold......
I'll be very grateful for your thoughts!
