I've just been asked if I wrote the original post and so if I am responsible for the hoax?!!

I didn't create the post, when I wrote "in a moment of shameless publicity..." I meant I'd written to the OP asking him to change the name of his TV show to "Desperate Housewives of Nappy Valley" I wasn't implying it was me wot wrote the original post!

I can disclose that in a moment of shameless publicity seeking (not sure that's English but you know what I mean!) I emailed the OP and asked them to consider changing the title to "The Real Housewives of Nappy Valley" but I have heard absolutely nothing back.

I've Googled the email address, the IP address and anything else I can think of and am getting a blank.

It could be a hoax, but why???

I think this is a wind-up. If it were for real there would be information about the production company, what channel etc, and the way its worded sounds suspect. As for the spelling - is a privet school a school with a hedge around it?

No way would it be from a yahoo account. My guess is it could be a journalist, imagine the article "I put up a spoof casting call and look at the replies I got"

I've got an 8 ... Chabbers; verb to Chab. to create a marketing slogan that makes one squirm. Maybe I have a 10 Chabbering ... get me on count down immediately. Can I have an E please bob!
