Lego always a good bet, or a NERF gun - loads of different types and they fire bits of foam!

Also the new Wimpy Kid book 'Hard Luck'. It came out yesterday and most boys that age (well, my son and his friends!) are really into them.

I just bought a Lego bedside clock for my son which is pretty cool.

Football, goalkeeping gloves, Arsenal back pack? Voucher for the latest football boots - don't get me started on the variety and the apparent importance of the 'right' ones!

I need to buy a birthday present for an 8 year old boy today! I haven't a clue what boys are into. Budget max £40/50.I can buy locally or at sloane square as have a few hours only! He loves football and arsenal, is half French..not allowed loads of gadgets. Any suggestions??
