The testing was originally done on 1m, most continental countries are 1.5m

Outside especially, transmission is negligible  so I wouldn't worry too much

It’s a nightmare. I find most people are inconsiderate and don’t seem to care. I ask them nicely to please keep their distance then if they ignore me, I speak quite loudly to drAw attention to them.

While talking in the street to a neighbour and keeping distance, 3 men crossed the road to walk within inches of the woman I was talking to.  The pavement on the other side was completely empty.  Another man pushed past me while I was queuing to pay in a local shop, again I was very obviously keeping distance from the person ahead of me and trying not to block anyone.    I understand that men are more vulnerable to the virus and, therefore, I don't understand why some seem so careless of their health and that of others.

Coronavirus Supermarket Etiquette???

by Denwand » Wed Apr 29, 2020 12:43 pm

Hi all,

doing a supermarket shop I find most people are responsible and considerate, keeping the required 2 meter distance in queues and in the aisles.

However;

Whenever I see someone browsing in a section I want to visit I stand and wait for them to leave before moving in and picking what I want - only for some inconsiderate person to blindside me from behind and appear at my shoulder to reach over and make their selection...barely half a meter away and sometimes even nearer! :shock: :( :o

For some reason the cheese section seems to be the most dangerous place for this!

This is worse than my second bugbear where, in a queue I stay a good 2 meters away from the person in front but I'm aware of the person behind me getting closer and closer and "closing the gap" to a meter or less! :o

What can you do apart from carrying a two meter bamboo cane around and warning them to keep back???
