So sorry for the delayed reply I'm having a view issues with my account.

Basically the charity is run by volunteers. In the run up to Christmas Day we are acquiring presents, food, drinks, decorations anything that will make it a day to remember.
In the run up to the Christmas Day event we have regular meeting online and we also need help with our media side of things if you're any good at that!
A week before the event we have a wrapping day where we prep everything as much as we can.
One Christmas eve and Christmas morning we decorate the location. On the day it self we prep and cook the food, serve the food, eat the food and hang out with our care leavers. There are a number of games and activities for everyone to help out with and join in.
You can volunteer in everything or just one event. All help is gratefully recieved.

Hi, me and my daughter (14 years old) would be very happy to be involved pre Christmas as we'll be away around the day.  My daughter loves wrapping presents so feel free to add our names next to that task!  As regards tech, let me know what kind of help you need, I can certainly help a lot with computer stuff, not so much with video/audio equipment.

Anyone up for doing some Christmas volunteering?

The Christmas Dinners is an annual event, established by writer and care leaver, Lemn Sissay OBE whose mission is to ensure no care leaver is alone on Christmas Day.

South London Xmas Dinner (SLXD) is run entirely by volunteers who come together to give young care leavers a very special Christmas Day.

These young people have recently left care (e.g foster care/children's home), some are very vulnerable due to their upbringing and this year may be their first Christmas living independently and alone.

We need your support to make this Christmas Day happen.
As well as help with getting donations of food and gifts, we also need support from volunteers to:
🎁 wrap presents,
📝 help with planning the event,
💻 give tech support,
🎪 offer Christmas Day entertainment,
🎨 creatives to make handmade gifts/decorations,
👩🏾‍🍳 a chef to cook Christmas dinner,
🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏾‍♂️ volunteers to help on the day and help in many other ways leading up to Christmas Day.
