Omg, CLOTHKITS!

Cute for up to ten, but my mother dressed me in them to 13. The bane of my life. Going to school in a peasant print corduroy skirt with matching cunning little waistcoat, synchronised polo neck jumper and tights. What a freak. Luckily the other kids were very accepting of my look.

Only joking, they bullied the crap out of me. Quite rightly.

I buy those brands but now buy a lot of them secondhand on Vinted. I tend to buy coats, boys trousers and other items that need to be hard wearing/ long lasting new from those brands but dresses/ tops/ T-shirts - seasonal things from Vinted or H&M.

H&M is good

But also have a regular look in Fara
So many of their donations are Boden and other similar quality brands

When my children were young they had quite a few clothes from Frugi. Sales prices are very good, very cheerful and colourful prints (which I am aware not everyone likes) and excellent fabrics.

I’d second all of the above and add Verbaudet to the list. Very good quality and classic designs.

I have 3 girls and so try and make sure items will last for all 3 to wear.

I think Sainsbury’s TU range is excellent. Particularly for underware, T-shirts, PJs.

H&M kids - dresses are good, T-shirts not as hard wearing as Boden but follows trends. Most Jeans / Trousers have adjustable waists. They do a good range of technical sportsware too.

Uniqlo - more gender neutral than Boden but really good quality and fun T-shirts etc. The technology in the fabric is good for keeping kids hot in winter / cool in summer. They wash really well.

Next - reasonably priced and good quality. Nice shorts, T-shirts and good at Christmas for party outfits.

Decathalon - good for active wear eg shorts, tshirts, leggings. Not always the best for longevity on their cheaper things.

M&S - a bit more expensive but tends to be good quality.

Boden - still use it for swimwear but nothing else.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas for good quality clothing brands other than Boden or Zara for young children. I have been buying regularly from these brands and love them but they both seem to have jumped substantially in cost and I am looking for alternatives, especially for everyday use.

If anyone has discovered any other brands, please would you share. Thanks.
