Hi
I have bought a derelict house and lived in for 2 yrs so I could understand the house before the big reno. Therefore we did the garden so we could enjoy and we were right as covid had hit us.
But….

The builders destroyed it. And you really cant blame them as they re doing their job: scaffold, concrete, foundations, heavy traffic and machinery and rain. So we had to re-do the garden.

Conclusion: buy some pots and some plants/flowera to soften your garden but wait until after you ve done your reno to do your garden. Otherwise you ll pay twice.

Hi there @whitepeonies. I am a garden designer based in Tooting and would be happy to take a look at your garden. My website is catdatta@gardendesign.com. New website being created at the moment but my current one will give you an idea of some of my past work. There's a contact form on the website if you'd like to discuss your garden requirements further. best wishes, Cat Datta

Hi everyone,

I am buying a house in Tooting that has a long-ish south facing garden in need of some love. It is all paved right now (old paving) and has no plants or softness. The house itself also needs work and I am trying to get myself organised so that any heavy work in the garden is done before the house is renovated.

But - I don't know who I need. Garden designer? Landscape designer? I wouldn't want to do all the garden work in one go but really have a plan so that I have a better idea of what makes sense to do before the house is renovated and what I can leave for after.

I also have no idea regarding costs for the design part itself.

Would be great if anyone could share recommendations and any information they may have on this.

Thanks
