To be honest, I don't think I can beat the above suggestion (will definitely keep that in mind!), but on rainy days I love hopping on the bus up to South Kensington and going to either the Natural History Museum or the Science Museum. My toddler loves the Science Museum in particular, as it's got three interactive areas he really enjoys: the Garden in the basement (with water play and giant lego bricks, plus lots more), the smaller section called the Pattern Pod on ground floor, and the Launch Pad on the top floor which is brilliant for both adults and children. There's ice skating now at the NHS (and a carousel as well) if you fancy getting into the spirit of Christmas this early!
