hi there - it's not south west but the Grove in hertfordshire is amazing for kids. Lovely bike rides, great kids clubs, two pools (one indoor and warm so perfect for your two year old) and the restaurant staff are very chilled about dealing with kids. They also do great extra stuff like leave milk and cookies and a box of toys for little ones And trays with drinks and kettle etc in your room which is pretty rare in nicer hotels but really useful for parents.

Bovey Castle (which I think is Devon) is also really great for kids - amazing outdoor spaces and sports and tons of activities. They have stunning lodge houses if you don't want to be cooped (sp?) up in a hotel room.

Hello,
I was wondering if any of you could recommend a child friendly (have a 2 year old and a 5 year old) country house type hotel in the UK ,pref in the South West - but not essential? Was hoping to get away for a few days this autumn/winter and am keen to get some recommendations! Thanks in advance.....
