Hi lia,

For Rise and Shine at St. Marks you need to queue at the entrance on main road-Battersea Rise. Opens at 10am but I would aim to get there 9.30am to be sure to get a space.

See you there!

Hi. Another good one to look into is baby bright which is at st barnabes church (they do another one there but in different parts of the church so have a look at both on offer). You have to pay termly but the group is smaller and the same mums and children attend each week so a great way to make friends.

Although I am bias being a member of St Marks and my Granddaughter does go to Rise and Shine and loves it! So I definitely recommend on a Wednesday http://www.stmarks-battersea.org.uk/RiseandShine which is drop in, (first come first served) as above,. This day was only added due to popular demand. It also runs on a Tuesday and Thursday for a regular place. However you do have to join the waiting list, which is very long…
Another great place my granddaughter enjoys is https://www.bac.org.uk/beesknees lots of exercise climbing the imitation grass hill and rolling back down. Crossing the bridge with the den below full of cushions is all fun! Especially for toddler age and above. Mums there are friendly and easy to talk too, or is that just me. ( I chat to everyone and expect them to respond !!!! )

Hi lia,

Welcome to the area!

We're a church on Battersea Rise, and we run a drop-in playgroup called Rise & Shine on a Wednesday morning in term-time 10-11.30am. It is quite popular, so I'd aim to arrive by 9.30am to the main church doors to ensure you get a space.

This Saturday (and once every month) we also run Messy Church, which is a morning full of crafts, a short song/story session in the church, and then a sandwich lunch. This is 10.30am-12pm, but again is very popular so best to try to arrive before 11am if possible!

Not sure of your situation but Cheer also host regular lunches here for anyone parenting alone; and we have a monthly Saturday morning playgroup called Men Behaving Dadly for Dads with little ones (handy if your partner can take them so you get the morning off!)

Hope this helps! Check out stmarks-battersea.org.uk for more info.

PS Lots of the other churches have playgroups too - I think St Michael's near Bolingbroke Grove runs one, definitely St Barnabas on Clapham Common... The libraries also have baby rhyme time type things, and until the summer term I think the One O'Clock Club will still be opening of an afternoon weekdays by the playground at the corner of Chivalry Rd.

Hi there,

You would be welcome to try a Building Bubbas session at Sammy Duder which is aimed at 16-24mths. It is supporting language development through songs and story acting with puppets and props and we use instruments and bubbles. They are v small sessions to it is easy to get to know the other mums and we organise meet ups outside the groups e.g. At Wandsworth common or a city farm. There are children similar age to your daughter. Only a few sessions are left this term as we finish on 1st July but as I said, there are meet ups too and will be doing some of these over the summer as well. You could come to the Monday 10am or Friday 4pm session if you are interested. There is some more info on website www.bubbaboogroups.com and you can email me at bubbaboogroups@gmail.com if you have any queries. Best wishes, Vicky

Hi! I recently moved in the area (close to wandsworth common), I have a 19 month old daughter and I was wondering if you can suggest any good playgroups or activity groups in the area so that my daughter can play and meet other children of her age... and I can meet other mums as well :)

Thank you!!!
