Thank you both! Will definitely visit the Avenue du Champagne and the cathedral in Reims. Great recommendations re where to stay too...both places look great.

When we drove to Italy we stayed in Epernay in La Villa Eugene. We loved it and the Avenue du Champagne.

We stayed in a very good B&B in July http://le-domaine-du-moulin.fr/.
It was for a stop over on our way to south of France. The place was very nice however we were disappointed with the Champagne region. There is hardly anything to see or do apart from Reims and its cathedral. The price of a bottle of champagne at the cellar is the same as in London and all the cellars look the same so if you've been to one already, there is not much point going to another one. Overall we felt it was a good idea to do a stop over but we would suggest to not book more than one night.

Hope that helps

Hi, we are driving to Italy next week and stopping in the Champagne region for a night - it's just husband and I (little one is already in Italy with the grandparents!) so we were hoping to do some sightseeing, maybe a tour of a Champagne House and if prices are good even buy a case! I was wondering if any of you have been there and have some suggestions? haven't booked yet (but most hotels seems to have availability anyway) so recommendations on where to stay/eat and what to do would be amazing!!
