Absolutely! Our nanny prepares meals and eats with the children and I certainly wouldn't expect her to do any different. If, like the previous poster suggests, your nanny has special dietary needs then yes, maybe ask her to bring in her own food (our nanny does that from time to time) but to be honest, I don't think it's really too much to get in a few extra supplies!

I would encourage her to eat with the children and what they are eating. Kids tend to eat more varied foods if this is the case. If she wants something different, she could provide her own lunch. I would not necessarily buy anything specific for her. Just make sure if you have something in the house you don't want her to eat, you communicate that. I always had an open pantry policy... and most of the time, the nannies ate hardly anything... including the things (like Chocolate) I'd prefer them to eat over me!

Question on live out nannies

by pixi » Tue Oct 29, 2013 2:55 pm

I was just wondering if both meals should be included for a live out nanny working 8 to 6 pm ? The nanny is supposed to cook and feed my children at lunch and dinner.
I would like to hear your ideas..
Thanks
