Sounds great, just what I'm looking for! Does anyone know if Belleville school offers this?

Was just coming to say Rutherford House children have 2 hours of forest school each week and see Emily beat me to it! My daughter has an absolute blast, raining or not, judging by the mud on her wellies and waterproofs (and hair, face...) each Friday afternoon.

Rutherford House does forest school as part of their curriculum and come rain or shine will be out on Tooting Common searching for dragons and building huts.

Thanks for all the responses and I'm glad there seems to be so much interest! Hopefully we can get a local one set up. I've contacted a few of the suggestions to see if they'd be interested. I'm happy to help sort things but unfortunately don't have time to organise / run it.

This won't help for a 4yo, but for anyone else following this thread with a younger child, The Kindergarten nurseries include elements of Forest School in their curriculum (children take part once a week). Crescent III in particular as it has a small woodland area attached to its garden.
See link below for more info. I have no affiliation to this nursery group other than my daughter being registered for entry next year.

We go to the forest school session on Streatham Common on Mondays, which is brilliant. The group that runs it also do a session in Brockwell Park on a Wednesday. We used to go to the v sweet Hedgesparrows Steiner school group on Tooting Bec common, but it stopped running when the woman leading it couldn't do it anymore. Someone was supposed to take over and start it up again, but we haven't been back to see if that has happened yet.

I'd be v keen to get involved in something more local to Clapham if people were interested in setting something up.

I am not sure if this helps at all but when I was looking for something similar I found that the Steiner school of SW london ran a group on Wednesdays in tooting. Can't tell you what it's like as I didn't actually attend but it might be worth checking out on their website if it's still going.

This looks quite good fun along those lines.

Maybe we could all get together to do something on Tooting or Wandsworth Common or Clapham Common along these lines?!

We've done Wild Learning in a few holidays now and loved it.

I've read that Lambeth Council is v.big on forest schooling and introducing it to Lambeth schools.

My child is at Telferscot and they bring bits of forest schooling into the curriculum.

Thanks for the link to wild learning. It looks great but unfortunately my sons still too young for it. I'll keep it in mind for next summer though!

My 7 year old son did a day of Wild Learning Camp on Wimbledon Common last summer and loved it. I'll definitely be booking it again

May be who ever does it at Wandsworth Prep would be happy to start it up as an after school club or a holiday club.
