That sounds terrible, poor you.

I am a working mum so I know how difficult it can be to find salons that have appointments at convenient times with therapists you can trust. That's why I decided to start my company Secret Spa.

Secret Spa is a mobile beauty app that delivers treatments to our clients at a time that works for them in the comfort of their own home. We offer a wide range of salon and spa services from our elite team of 5-star therapists.

All of our therapists are highly trained and tested, and they offer hot waxes so you shouldn't have any issues with us!

You can visit our website secretspa.co.uk or download our iOS app to see the other services we offer and to book an appointment with one of our trusted therapists.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Try Clare at Bellissima. Her salon is just by Clapham South Station, and she is amazing! I've been going to her for facial and wax for almost 9 years. http://www.bellissimatherapies.co.uk

I am very sorry to hear about your experience at the salon. I am a mobile beauty therapist who does waxing and to be honest I am quite shocked that they decided not to use hot wax. Yes, you can use strip wax but hot wax is a lot more gentle and is definitely better for the intimate area.

I would suggest maybe contacting the salon to let them know of your experience as you never know this may have happened before and the manager may need to provide additional training for this therapist. Sometimes all feedback even if negative can be helpful in one away or another.

Please do feel free to visit my website www.foryoubeauty.co.uk to have a look at the treatments that I offer on a mobile basis .

If you fancy trying a mobile therapist rather than a salon I would massively recommend Jade from Blume Beauty. She has a website you'll be able to google. She is great with hot wax and does amazing facials too (plus loads of other treatments). She's also absolutely lovely!

I have just had a terrible experience at the Tranquility beauty salon on Bellevue Road. I normally get all my waxing done by the lovely Aleesha at Independent Mind Body Soul in Balham but she is away, and the other therapists booked up. I often find it very difficult to get an appointment there. I called Tranquility a few days ago to enquire about hot waxing as that is what I normally have. I was told that there would be no need to use hot wax for a standard bikini line so I decided to give it a shot as I trusted they knew more than I did. How wrong I was. The lady who treated me was rude, brisk, and left me with a really painful bruise. I knew right away that she had bruised me as her hand slipped and it hurt a lot! However, when I mentioned it she told me it was my fault for not holding my skin taught enough (i was) and that I should have warned her that I bruise easily! The whole treatment lasted approx 5 minutes and when I left there was someone else waiting outside. I believe it wouldn't have happened had the lady allocated sufficient time to do the treatment properly. I am really shocked and was left quite shaken by the whole experience.

So, back to my original question, which is can anyone recommend another salon and therapist in the area (Balham/Wandsworth Common)? Thank you!
