I also live in SW17... very experienced food writer and supper club cook! I have also brought up two children. I'd love to come and talk to you and discuss what you can cook. I only ever cook from scratch and it's actually very easy once you have mastered some basic recipes and ideas - the key is to focus on the foods your family enjoys eating!

I am free this week on Thursday and Friday so please let me know. I would need to talk to you first to get an idea of what kind of food you like, your budget etc etc. I am not judgemental at all about this - many people don't have experience of cooking like this for a family and I realise it can be daunting. À Thermomix can definitely help you it's a cooking appliance that cooks, stire, kneads, steams, blends...and cleans itself.
You can do eveything from scratch very quickly, without any mess. Also, if you don't know how to cook, it has a guided cooking option that tells you step by step what to do on the touch screen.
I'll be very happy to come to your house and do a cooking experience for you and your friends.

Hi, we were sent a free trial of hello fresh and gousto by some friends (after having our second child). It was really fun as you try new things, and everything is given to you with amazing instructions so you can't really go wrong either. Defo worth trying!

On the theme of recipe boxes (which I also encourage anyone for easy recipes when you haven't much experience) - definitely have a look at Mindful Chef - https://www.mindfulchef.com. Really good nutritious meals and health-conscious, may well be perfect for allergies and your own needs. I've been having them for a couple of years now and it's really helped develop my cooking. Also they're based in Earlsfield so good to support a local business!

On a separate note - have you tried any recipe boxes?

We use HelloFresh and Mr NVN found it incredibly useful.

None of these services are ever perfect but he found it helped him learn to cook from scratch and it's taken him about six months but he's pretty confident in a way I couldn't have imagined before. My husband and I would like to start eating more healthily and cooking from scratch. Is anyone or does anyone know of a chef / cook who would come to my home for a few half days to show me how to prepare and cook a variety of healthy meals?
