I think it makes a huge difference whether it was the mother or the nanny.
Either way, it's not nice for the child, but if it was the mother, then it's no-one's business how she disciplines her own child. However, if it was the nanny then it is someone elses business, i.e. the parents' business.
I think the original post was just trying to warn the parents which is fair enough.
