Kate Perry and Russel Brand - anyone else pissed off?

Is it just me or does anyone else get angry with the lack of effort that some famous people put into their marriages. I feel really whiney for even writing this post but I can't understand how these guys like Russell Brand and Katy Perry can even claim they worked at their marriage after 14 months. ...

Re: Do you drive a 4x4

Well I am happy to get a "rise". Stop being so bloody diplomatic. 4x4s are a status symbol. People didn't drive big old tatty Land Rovers years ago, even though they were"high" and "strong", but they now drive posh expensive Discoverys and Range Rovers because they're e...

Re: Meet the Leader of Wandsworth Council

@livegreen the thread is about "Meet the Leader". if it was "Meet the leader with chippy little comments from people who are so nervous that their school, which took 20 million quid of tax payers money, might not get delayed in austere times and then investigated further and then canc...

Re: Meet the Leader of Wandsworth Council

Great initiative. My question. In times of economic difficulty, seeing as the majority of children at Belleville or Honeywell, based on their current distance criteria, would get into Chestnut Grove, why are we building a new secondary school? Depending on the answer, can we ask follow-up questions?...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

I'm going to step out of this thread now.

I think we've all put our points of view forward and I don't think that we're going to change the minds of people in "opposing" camps.

I wish everyone on the thread good luck with the education of their children.

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

@YummyDaddy You claim "It is totally irrelevant whether or not my children would get into CG (and depending on ability band mine might get into GC)" Why? Surely if your child can get into a local secondary school then all is well? Are you saying that CG is not good enough? If that is what ...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Livegreen Thank you for the reply. I will ignore the condescending tone about "simple" maths. You have no idea about who I am or what I do. So please do not make cheap shots. Can we please be clear. If a child who lived on Belleville Road applied to get into Chestnut Grove, would they get ...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

By the way, I challenge ANY of the pro-school lobby to politely and calmly argue against the points above. Don't come back with smoke and mirrors like "the answers are plain to see" and "look at the website". I've done that and the answers are NOT there. Don't be rude, don't get ...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

As many of you will realise I was very active in this thread before Xmas but ducked out because of the refusal of the "pro-school" lobby to engage in the debate and also because they were so **** rude. The essence of the situation is this. 1) there is a local secondary school for the "...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Hi Thank you for the post. I have been to Belleville many many times. And Honeywell, many many times. I will answer your question. Please do the same for me. Your question is, I think, what I think we should do with the increasing birth rate in Wandsworth? I believe we need to extend the schools we ...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Virgil Thank you for the comment. Why is mentioning my belief that this is a race/class issue uncivilised? Are you suggesting by simply expressing my belief that this is a race/class issue I am being uncivilised? All you have to do is look at the threads above to see that some of responses to my que...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

What is astonishing about the "pro-school" posts is that there is a huge amount of rudeness and bullying in what should be a civilised debate. I simply ask again and again this question:- What percentage of HW and BV children request CG and have that request denied? You can all shout and b...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Thank you for the response. We are going around in circles but we are going around in circles because no-one has the data to back up your argument. You quote figures for school places in Wandsworth. You alude to a problem for school places in Wandsworth. However the ARK school is not a Wandsworth so...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Wow! Firstly I will ignore you blatantly rude comment about being sorry "that I couldn't get my head around" the issues. I am happy to be civil about this, I would ask you to do the same. We are going around in circles but we are for a very good reason. I am simply asking whether or not th...
