Re: Has anyone filled out tax return on maternity leave?

Hi- I'm self-employed and have found the HMRC office really helpful- they even talked me through part of my tax return while I was on the phone to them. If you ring them and explain your situation, they can tell you whether you'll need to complete a return. They also run really good free courses (ab...

Animal allergy testing

We are thinking of getting a pet but I think my son might be allergic to dogs so I'm keen to get him tested. I understand it's not possible to do it on the NHS so I'm looking for a recommendation for where to get him tested for allergies to dogs and cats. Any recommendations gratefully received! tha...

Re: 'State till 8' - how?

I would say it's not that common in all state schools and when it does happen, it's quite disruptive for the schools that are left with dwindling numbers upper years. Schools miss out on a lot of funding when children leave so it's not great really when they take children in in reception only to do ...

Re: Rant: cut trees

Re: Bad back after child birth

Hi- I saw an NHS women's physio at St Georges Hospital who specialise in this and she was great. Referral through your GP. Otherwise, privately I'd recommend Kate Calleja who is a physio who also teaches pilates http://www.podspilates.com and sees women with your issues. I'd really recommend her if ...

Re: Gluten free/wheat free/dairy free? Help!

Hi- your paediatric dietitian who advised you to go gluten/ wheat and dairy free should be able to direct you to where to get what you need- there is variable regulation so depending on the age of your child, it's best to get professional advice

Re: No 1 cake tin??

I hired a number 4 from La Cuisinere a couple of years ago and it was about £3 for the week. It was from the little branch on the side road (not sure of the name) round the corner from the ones on Northcote Road.

Re: Speech therapist?

Hi- I am a mum and a Speech and Language Therapist. I would definitely recommend getting some advice. You can see your GP or health visitor who can refer your son to your local service. I dont know which your local service would be or what age they accept children- its 2.5 in some areas but any age ...
