Re: Enuresis specialist/therapist in this area?

The St. John's Hill centre has enuresis specialists there, although I think NHS and need referral from a GP. I'm sure you have tried all avenues but always worth flagging ... the Rodger bed wetting alarm (pants with a special sensor, no wires involved) just sorted out my 7-year old in three weeks......

Beginners yoga recommendations?

Hoping to pick the brains of all you yoga bunnies out there a little... Mindful of the fact that I am not getting any younger, I am keen to try out yoga as a means of keeping strong and healthy and an exercise that I can do when the running knees give up! However, I may be a bit of a tricky customer...

Re: Private (BUPA) Paediatrician Recommendation

Give the Portland a call. They specialise in children and women's health and are very helpful when you call them in directing you as to which of their specialists to talk to. If at a loss, Dr. Fysh (based at The Portland) is an excellent general paediatrician and if he can't help you himself, he wou...

Re: Edward James-northcote road-any good?

For what it's worth, I agree with the other users who have had good experiences at Edward James. I have been going to Ed or Natalie for my cut and colour since they opened and have always been enormously satisfied with them. I have a slight (and weird) hairdresser phobia and this is the only hairdre...

Re: My baby is struggling to drink milk - recommendations fo

Our first had tongue tie, which was sorted very capably by Graham Smith at Kingston and our second had silent reflux and behaved EXACTLY as you have described. I was lucky enough to have an excellent GP who was immediately onto it as soon as I took him into her and prescribed him Lansoprazole, which...

Re: Awaiting Miscarriage - How Best to Proceed?

So sorry that you are going through this. I'm sure there is no right or wrong answer in such a personally devastating situation but like others, I can give you the benefit of my experience if it helps. I have had 2 miscarriages at 12 and 13 weeks. With the first, like you, I was advised to let thing...

Re: Jeans to hide "mummy tummy"

Dr Denim are brilliant if you are looking for Skinny jeans. Their "Plenty" jeggings come in at £40 and look every bit as good as the £200 James jeans I bought them to replace and so far have lasted longer too! Not sure if there's anywhere that sells them around here but they have a great w...

Re: Eaton House The Manor Nursery School

For what it's worth, my eldest is currently at Eaton House pre-prep, having not gone to the nursery despite us having registered him for a place at 3 weeks old. Instead, he went to Marmalade Cat nursery just down the road, which gave him a fantastic start. Infact, I was so thrilled with it, that I h...

Bike riding aid.

Does anyone know of a back-saving device that you can buy when helping a child to learn to ride a bike? Our 5 year old is desperate for a bike this Christmas but refuses both stabilisers and balance bike as they are "not proper bikes". Both my husband and I suffer from bad backs so dreadin...

Re: Baby car seat woes

Hello - we had the same problem with our second. Ultimately, I discovered that the problem was silent reflux, which peaks between 1-4 months. Apparently the deep well in the infant car seats can aggravate the reflux, hence the non-stop screaming. Since diagnosis, a combination of reflux meds and put...

Re: Tongue tie

We used Graham Smith at Kingston Hospital for my son's Tongue tie when he was a baby. Very swift and efficient and from memory it only cost something like £80.
