British Nanny looking for afternoon work on Wednesdays!

Hi there, I'm a 23 year old British/Dutch nanny with over 3 years of experience, with many references, looking for a Wednesday nannying position. I've been nannying for over 3 years, and have regular work already, but I've got Wednesdays free from 11am, so would love to find an afternoon position! I...

Re: FOUND: German Aupair..... SOUGHT: Friends

I'm in Clapham, 23 and speak a little bit of German, but fluent English and Dutch, ha!
If she drops me an email, -through this account-, I could get in touch and take her for a drink in Clapham or something?
I know what it's like to move to a big city knowing nobody, so wouldn't mind at all :)

Re: Does Having a Manicure Make you a Better Mum?

This reminds me off the apprentice when one of the members of team logic has made a mistake on the task (emergency biscuit anyone????) and then they're trying tk save themselves in the boardroom but it's too late.. Dom Dom Dom... You're fired *insert dramatic music* Bring on the taxi This might be l...

Re: How much do live in nannies charge?

as a nanny myself, I'd say around 350 per week... but to be honest, 60 hours a week is far too much. 10 hours per day mo-fr is the max most nannies would do.... if you want someone for the weekends too, then I'd suggest a full-time (50 hours) nanny ,and a live-out weekend nanny to do the extra 10 ho...

Re: Mother slapping her child

I'll be honest, I drove my mother insane when I was little, and got the odd slap on the bottom (I remember my mother calling me by my full name and I knew I was in trouble!!) Most of the time it was because my sister and I had been fighting, and my mum just had enough of it... I wouldn't judge her.....

Re: Perfect Smile dentist: dodgy owner!

Sure, the man is awful and what he's done is horrible, but he's not actually the one that's checking your teeth is he, so would be wrong (in my opinion), to change dentists, and to affect the hardworking dentists that work for him... but that's easy for me to say, I don't go to that one, I go to the...

Re: Wandsworth Council to charge children to play in park

I've got to be honest and say that I think it's a good idea to charge at the weekends. The staff need to be paid and I'd rather have the playground being well maintained than another poorly managed park. and I think a lot of people are using it from outside Battersea.... I think it's totally fair to...

Re: How much to pay a nanny for an entire weekend?

I'm a nanny and I've done that before and normally got 600 pounds for a whole week or 250 for the weekend.
Obviously you'd have to pay for all travelcosts and room/food etc...
You probably already know this, but you'd be surprised what I've seen! (a friend of mine made a loss on a workweekend!)

Re: When to start looking?

If it's a popular nursery, then sign them up as soon as you can,
some of my friends called them after their 12 week scan!

But fear not, I'm sure you're not too late, but wouldn't leave it too long, or you might not get the nursery of your choice.

Good luck! :)

Re: Random question.. Anyone know a bad nursery?

Yes I didn't mean it like that. If it didn't feel right to you, then you shouldn't let your kids go there. I'm all for gut instinct!
I was just thinking about the fact some parents might have children that go there, that's all :)
