I have heard good things of Broadwater. The problem with the free schools (and by this I mean TPS and Rutherford House) is lack of track record. Fircroft is one of the schools I visited and really liked. I know one set of parents whose son is in year 5 and couldn't speak more highly of it. I would recommend visiting and seeing for yourself.
