Re: Mums? What about dads?

I thought the same Julian, wondered if it is just not a troll.

It's almost like going into a women underwear shop and telling them they are sexist for not selling men boxershorts.

Re: Santa Claus and presents - dilemna

It might just be cultural. Just to give another view. In France we don't have the stockings tradition and all presents are from father Christmas (well for what I know anyway and until you are about 6 yo). You don't have to have lots of big presents and that doesn't mean that children are not gratefu...

Re: Why are school uniforms sexist?

Same here, a lot of girls in our school wear grey leggings. They all respect the school colour scheme and the school doesn't seem to have an issue with it.

Re: Taking the kids on holiday before the end of term?

I would definitively do it too. MGMidget why are you saying that the argument that children do benefit from travelling or being closer from their families who live abroad is used as the only argument to justify ourselves? :( You don't think it can simply be true? Also most parents might have a genui...

Working mum with three children

I was wondering if i could have the views/experience of working mummies who have three children. We have 2 children and I am working, we couldn't really do without 2 salaries, and we are thinking of having a third child, but, amongst other things, I am a bit worried that it will be unmanageable. We ...

Re: Rejected from 5 state nursery schools

Have you all received your responses for nurseries applications? Or some of you are still waiting? I haven't heard from 2 of them, so slightly worried that I might have missed something....especially that we've been rejected from the others so far.... Soooooo nerves racking this nursery/primary appl...

Re: Should sibling's rights be reduced for renters that move awa

Thank you Swimeroo!! I can't agree more with your comment on the good schools. I got quite concerned/stressed some months ago because of threads like this one, but I talked to parents, visited schools and I don't understand why the good schools are dismissed! There is definitely a shortage of primar...

Re: Proposed change to school admission arrangements

Gcatuk, I agree 100 % with you. I think parents are just trying to do their best for their children and to be fair that's what a parent should do! Equally I understand the distress of parents who are fearing not to find a good school or/and get to the great school of the end of their road and can't ...

Re: Proposed change to school admission arrangements

It probably won't make a huge difference between the common, but it will for people leaving the other side of a park which has no roads and where the current calculation will have to go around the park/common or for people leaving the other side of a rail way. It will also make a difference in areas...
