Centre Paris in Europe

We are looking at going to one of the European Centre Parcs in May half term. They look much cheaper than UK options but struggling to choose between them. Anyone any experience of going to any? Interested in standard of accommodation and how busy they were, as well as what activities were like. My ...

Re: Swimming lessons for scared 6 year old?

I'd recommend Deleen who does one to one lessons at Balham and Latchmere pools. She taught my very nervous 4 year old for 4 lessons - he was terrified of the water when we started and made real progress with her. Ring Latchmere and speak to Luke to arrange. Avoid Water Nippers who operate out of Tri...

Where to buy navy swimming shorts?

I'm trying to find some navy swimming shorts for my 4 year old school lessons. Drawing a blank on the internet - everything I find has logos, patterns, or doesn't come in a small enough size. Any clues where to find them - they are part of his school uniform list, so non-negotiable!

Calling all Alderbrook mums

My little boy starts at Alderbrook in September and I'm looking for after school childcare from Tuesday to Thursday. I'm not keen on using the afterschool club, so wondering whether any other working mums had ideas - happy to look at shared childcare options? If anyone is in the same boat as me, ple...

After school childcare required in Balham

My little boy starts school in September so I'm looking for after school childcare Tuesdays to Thursdays, from school finish time to 6pm. I would be looking for either someone who can pick up my little boy from school in Balham and care for him until 6pm in their own home, or someone who can bring h...

Looking for after school nanny 2 days per week

I am looking for an after school nanny for Tuesdays and Wednesdays who could pick up my 4 year old from school, give him tea and do activities with him, then collect my 2 year old from her nursery and bring her home. We would also be looking for additional hours in holiday time if possible. We live ...

Both my son and daughter are also at Eveline and have been since babies. It's a great nursery but does have a long waiting list.

Re: Beginners swimming lessons for 3 year old

Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately PuddleDucks don't do weekend classes which I need. Any other recommendations gratefully received!

Beginners swimming lessons for 3 year old

I'm trying to find a swimming lesson suitable for my 3.5 year old. He had awful eczema as a baby so we didn't take him to lessons then. I want him to go now, but he's quite nervous in the water - he certainly wouldn't go in by himself and clings on to me all the time. All the classes I can find for ...

Re: Did you get your first choice primary?

Trinity St Mary's was one of our choices - and one we would have been happy to have been offered. It's a small school and felt like a very caring, nurturing place to me.

Re: Did you get your first choice primary?

Really interesting to see the distances - thanks for posting. Rutherford House catchment hasn't actually changed much since last year. Not surprised that Ravenstone was able to offer a place to everyone given its Ofsted (and I know there are mixed views from parents on the report) but i came away fr...

Re: Martinhal resort - car hire?

I would say definitely get a car, even if just for part of the holiday. It's a fair trek to Sagres and cabin fever would set in after two weeks at Martinhal!
