Re: Feeling fleeced by "Non-refundable registration fees!

Perhaps there would be a fairer way of apportioning costs though. If putting a name down is £20 (to pay for somebody to administrate a list) then a cost could be charged for interview & exam separately should they reach that stage. It is a massive investment of time, effort and money all round, ...

Feeling fleeced by "Non-refundable registration fees!

So, we are planning for our smallest person to go to Secondary school in September 2015 and they all require a "registration fee". Why is this? Paying the money doesn't secure anything at all from our side and one of the schools we are looking at apparently closes its books after 600 regis...

Re: Best friend diagnosed with Leukaemia...

I can totally sympathise with you. My good friend Polly has been diagnosed a number of times and has been receiving treatment for years now. She is an absolute inspiration and has a website with raw food recipes http://www.pollynoble.com and she co-wrote a book called "The Cancer Journey" ...

INCHCAPE BATTERSEA - AMAZING SERVICE!

Hello! Thought it would be helpful to share this gem with you all because I dont often feel so impressed with a service I want to share it! I just had my car serviced and sorted out at Inchcape Battersea, I didn't know they would do VW because they are Lexus officially. (I didn't even know they were...

Re: 6 years fees, then asked to leave.

It wasn't either of the schools mentioned, but even so I find it astounding! A good friend is a teacher and at her school outside london they organise teaching assistants and split off groups for the children who need a bit of help as well as for the particularly bright children. My little boy goes ...

6 years fees, then asked to leave.

I bumped into somebody I know who has recently sold their house and I joked about how can they leave the area etc etc. He shocked the hell out of me by informing me that they have decided to move because the (well known fee paying) school their child attends isn't willing to have him/her there any l...

Re: Would you employ a male Nanny?

Absolutely! I've had a great guy doing school pick-ups for me for the last year and when my little boy was told he had to stop picking him up as he has another job, he cried for an hour and a quarter! They go to the park and play football in the summer, watch wrestling and play on the playstation in...

After-school angel needed!

Hello, my lovely Manny has gone on to bigger and better things after a year of looking after my 8 year old boy. I need some help on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from school pick-up on Northcote Road (3.45pm) until I get home (6pm) and the odd night here and there for babysitting. If possible I'...

Re: Best restaurant Clapham Sth/balham/northcote rd/batt ris

Took my in-laws to The Althorp (used to be The Bowler) on Wandsworth Common on Saturday...absolutely amazing food and at reasonable pub prices. Really comfy and great service, apparently new owners. Fantastic burgers - much nicer than Byron and better accoustics!!!

Re: Help! Dolphin or Finton House??

Hello! I finally got a place at Dolphin for my little boy last year. He was previously at a school where he was horribly bullied so I was nervous again about a fresh start. Dolphin has brought him right out of himself, he is eager to learn. eager to go to school and has lots of friends. He adores hi...
