Re: Art Class or anything artistic in the area?

The Lavender Hill Studios are amazing for fine art courses. SFX College by Clapham South do some good evening classes (although they can be hard to get to with kids bedtimes etc) and The Papered Parlour off Clapham High Street do some good weekend courses. Think Sew Over It also do courses/classes. ...

One off/post builder cleaning service?

Can anyone recommend a good, thorough one off house cleaning service? We have just had builders leave and our usual cleaner is on holiday so I'm in need of some extra help and a major 'spring clean'!

Many thanks in advance!

Re: Flower girl - please help!

Hi there As it happens my 3.5 year old will be a flower girl next Friday so we may well have some footage or at least some pictures for you after that! That said, I can't promise how it will go - most of the time she is quite excited by the concept, not that she really gets what it is, she just like...

Re: Nanny or maternity nurse?

We had a fantastic maternity nurse when our second was born. We chose that option as, a.We had had a horrible time when our first was born (WOW could she scream, didn't feed, didn't sleep, etc) so feared a repeat of that and, b.We reasoned that our eldest would need our attention when the new baby a...

Re: TK Maxx in Balham

What's wrong with TK Maxx?? I love a good bargain! :) Also, I don't think there is anything suspicious about how they get there stock. It's essential stuff that has been over produced, never made it to the high street or never sold elsewhere - mixed in with some current season things. ie. no less et...

Re: 15wk-old baby only sleeps on me - help!

Our first was like that - we were exhausted working in shifts whilst she slept on us. Totally sympathise with how you feel - including the waking up in a panic after you've dozed off. Turns out ours had silent reflux (like the babies above) so I imagine she was seriously uncomfortable on her back. W...

Re: Good Framer

I really like the Pond Gallery up at Clapham Common (The Pavement). We used them recently and they we're cheaper than Ingo Finke and did a better job, and they were also very friendly.

Any tips to get scratches out of stainless steel?

Please excuse the boring, housewifey post but... Does anyone have any tricks for getting scratches out of stainless steel?? My cleaner has scratched the hell out of my lovely new range and I am livid. I've tried Bar Keepers Friend which is the only thing Britannia could suggest - it makes everything...

Re: Short Let urgently needed

Have you looked on Gumtree? I saw a few short lets on there earlier today. We will need a short let for the same reason as you but not until May. Seems it's too early for us to confirm anything as apparently shorts lets tend to be very last minute - so on that note, hopefully you'll be in luck findi...

Re: charity shops pushing the boat!

It's funny, I had the exact same thought the other day. I dropped a load of stuff at the Trinity Hospice shop in Balham and had a look arounds whilst I was in there (I love charity shop bric-a-brac so I am not new to charity shop buying) and I was honestly amazed at some of the prices. Outside of Lo...
