Re: Bolingbroke Academy Open Days

How can you call it an open day when it isn't on the site?

I take it the building work still hasn't been completed?

Re: Childrens' Easter Activity Camps

Hi Julian

Do you take childcare vouchers as payment? as this would be a deal breaker for me.

Re: Is it right that parents become churchy to get a school plac

What a stupid argument re taxpayers. Catholics pay tax too - non Catholics are perfectly welcome at many Catholic schools but are only interested in the outstanding ones - funny that! Why on earth would you want to send your children to a school which teaches them beliefs which are not your own - wh...

Re: Ravenstone or St Bede's (Lambeth) Primary Schools

There is no corner to fight! It's hard enough for Catholic children to get into local Catholic schools, and pretty impossible for non-Catholics, unless it's much higher up the school. Even then, any siblings wouldn't have priority over Catholic children who met the criteria. Not sure why non-Catholi...

Re: Ravenstone or St Bede's (Lambeth) Primary Schools

"all Catholic schools have a small intake of non Catholics" - not true. They will only let non Catholics in if undersubscribed by Catholics who meet the criteria.

Re: Northcote Road Carnival Cancelled

I am in the minority here, but I completely support Scrooge's comments - I live off Northcote and was annoyed to see a stage being built at the opposite end of my road without any consultation. I too would have been furious with the disturbance Scrooge talks about. Let's hope that now the driving fo...

Re: Is Crumpet Northcote Rd closing?

I'm not keen on chainstores either, but prefer them to yet another estate agent. Hamptons is moving into the old carpet shop - yawn.

Re: Open letter on possible Bolingbroke school

I think everyone has the right to post on this forum don't they? The pro-schoolers are certainly using it to its full advantage - why is that not propaganda?

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Don't worry SW17 mummy, if these people get their school they will turn their nose up at Graveney and you'll be able to send your kids there.

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Because the people who are in this group won't have ever heard of Falconbrook school, never mind the Winstanley estate! I went to a meeting about this a couple of years ago in the cafe on Wandsworth common and they were all pledging 000s to support the campaign - after all they'd be saving 00000s if...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Thank you Tories. The answer to your question is yes the child would get in. It would also get into Battersea Park School, if male Ernest Bevin, if female a very good chance of Burntwood (I'm not quite so sure of this because of the selection). If all you lot who are so keen for this new school got ...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

It's not just about Chestnut Grove. There's also Battersea Park School if you want mixed.. that's a half hour walk away (at most). There's Burntwood for girls and Ernest Bevin for boys a bus ride away. There is plenty of choice in Wandsworth. But none of the people who are pro the new school will ad...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

I don't think the Morning Star is read very much between the commons LOL!!

Seriously, this has to be the biggest waste of money which should go towards funding the schools we already have, which are full of out of borough kids.
