Re: Riversdale Primary School Southfields

My boys love going to school at Riversdale. My youngest currently in nursery will be starting reception in Sept, with my oldest in Yr 1 since finishing reception last year. They have a great individual approach to each childs learning, I am really impressed at the progress my boys have made with the...

Re: ENT specialist

I just wanted to add my recent experience for anyone not covered under hospital insurance (like me who had recently moved to the UK and preexisting illness were not covered for first couple of years despite having private health insurance for years in our home country). My nearly 4 y.o had his tonsi...

Re: Tips for Handover to nanny?

My suggestion would be to do up a rough time schedule of what is espected each day plus notes on how to use appliances, where to find things in your house and in your local community and your kids preferences with play, food etc. I also had my nannies start a day or 2 before I had to so that I could...

Re: help - schools info

I hope you have now organised a school, but for others looking make sure you check out Riversdale. When we moved into the area we attended one of the head teachers tours and were more than impressed. Now my children are enrolled there I have found it to be an excellent school and very pleased that t...

Re: Riversdale primary school

I have just come accross this post. My son is currently in reception at Riversdale with my younger son due to start at nursery in Sept. I have had only a great experience with the school and especially appreciate as a parent the extra mile the teachers seem to go to at this school. My sons reading a...

Re: eczema?

A natropath recommended Fish oil capsules for my boy. I saw an improvement within days. He now takes the kids burstable chewy ones daily and moisurises his skin from the inside. As long as the other brain development benefits it can bring, I call it my miracle cure for my boys eczema. It has definat...

Re: eczema?

I found presecription creams from the dr are best when they are ointment based, they are oiler and better for the skin. I always washed my boy who suffered with the Ego QV products as I am from Australia. I still buy them here in the UK at: http://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/qv-b914.html?gclid=CKiu-sTXxbAC...

Re: Bath time terrors

Do you have a shower head? Sometimes when Bath's become scary for whatever reasons, hoping in the shower wih mummy or daddy is a great alternative. Obviously not something you want to continue forever doing, but lets you get the job done while the fears subside. The other option is hoping in the bat...

Re: Deaths in Nappy Valley

Very tragic, may those angels now rest in peace. I have put some links to some great articles from my home country, Australia. It seems from the comments posted on this thread that Oz is further along in recognising PND exists, openly discussing to break the stigma and providing support networks. Yo...

Re: Help - toddler / Au Pair /mummy issues

I have also gone through similiar with my boys and our previous nannies. It is important even though you are home that you create time for the 2 of them to be together when they know mummy is unavailable. It might mean closing your bedroom door for a few hours each day (try and make it the same time...

Re: Live out au pairs

Maybe try putting up advert on this site and/or Gumtree explaining the hours you require, duties to be performed, that it is live out and if you like remuneration you offer. I would think somewhere betwen 8 - 10 pounds an hour would get you applicants. You would be surprised how many people are look...
