Re: Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

Hi Trinka, So sorry to hear of your situation. Awful, isn't it? No words of advice, sorry. My nursery in question did not waive anything either and when I didn't receive the invoice to my new address, they sent me an email threatening "If this fee is not paid within the next seven days, you lea...

Re: Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

Ironically the school had 6 teachers leave/move out of my daughter's class to another part of the school voluntarily, and one of the school's arguments had been that they would have to make teachers redundant if they returned the fees. My response to that was that with these teachers leaving, and kn...

Re: Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

I think this thread has been compromised because I received a long winded voicemail from the nursery in question saying "I saw your post on Nappy Valley..." so assume some of the posters supporting the T&Cs are from the nursery posing as mums. Thanks for everyone's input, good food for...

Portable marquee needed

Hi, does anyone have one of those small portable marquees I can borrow for a birthday party on the Common tomorrow? We just want a bit of shade as it is expected to be very sunny!

PM me if you can help. We can return it tomorrow afternoon.

Many thanks!

Re: Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

Sorry, correction, they would return the deposit if we paid the autumn fees so +£2k out of pocket.

Re: Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

Well we appealed to the Head's compassion, explaining our situation but she said she still will charge the autumn term fees. I'm livid. Pure greed. The T&C's said that they charge the term's fees regardless of whether the place is filled or not. So they will keep our £750 deposit and demand next...

Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

We sent both our children to a local private nursery. Last year my husband was out of work for a year but we continued to keep our girls in their schools for stability. My husband has since gotten a job outside of London so we have decided to move the family (and I have gotten a new job) in this new...

Re: Builders - Doran Brothers?

Hi, realise this is an old post but just for the record, we used them and had a horrendous experience. We thought they were bullies, refused to continue work until we paid them before the payment schedule and they lied about building control to us. Building control were appalled at their behaviour. ...

Re: Kids Unlimited Northcote Road?

We did a nannyshare because we wanted to be more confident that she was receiving the level of care that she seemed to me lacking at KU. Once she was old enough we then sent her to Mouse Hole/House on Mallison which I can't recommend enough. Teachers there were fab (realising that is for 2 years+ ch...

Re: Kids Unlimited Northcote Road?

We sent our daughter (12 months) to Kids Unlimited at the Wandsworth North Side site and pulled her out after a few months of unexplained bruises, accidents and poor carer to children ratios. The bruises were caused by natural accidents/falls that the staff didn't see so couldn't tell me what happen...
