Re: Chelsea & Westminster - Private midwife led care?

I actually did most of my 2nd baby antenatal on NHS at C&W (only made decision to go with private consultant last minute because of first birth awfulness) and they have definitely put a huge amount of effort & money into bringing midwifery there up to a much higher standard. Honestly think t...

Re: Chelsea & Westminster - Private midwife led care?

Hi, I have done both private midwife led birth (first baby) & consultant led (second baby) at the Kensington Wing. I would emphatically not recommend the midwife led service as I had an extremely traumatic & mismanaged birth first time round which ended up with me being transferred back over...

Re: Rotavirus Vaccine

My baby had the rotavirus vaccine a few weeks ago & suffered no ill effects whatsoever. On the other hand my toddler had rotavirus last year & was extremely unwell with it, losing a huge amount of weight, giving it to us & developing a lactose intolerance as a result that we're still dea...

Re: If you could offer me one piece of advice, what would it

Just treasure those short few weeks when they sleep like a little frog on you, remember everything, take hundreds of photos and videos, don't sweat the small stuff and don't listen to your parents or in laws. It goes so quickly and is so, so precious. Good luck! x

Re: Artificial grass

And it is less shiny than a lot of the others, I looked at loads of samples. We used the one called "Meadow".

Re: Artificial grass

Yes, we put in nam grass this summer - it looks more real than Easygrass & we absolutely love it. It is perfect for our 2 yr old who just bounces if she falls over! Have to admit I really didn't want it, was very much in the real grass camp, but husband was dead keen & he was (I hate to admi...

Toddler rejecting daddy

I recently had baby no.2 & my two year old toddler was fantastic in the first weeks, and dealt with a lot of disruption admirably. Now things have settled down though she has started to demand "mummy do it" every time daddy tries to do anything for her. He isn't allowed to put her to b...

Re: The perfect jeans

I second the Paige suggestion - they are cut for curves & are the best jeans investment ever. They keep their shape & are so flattering. Also just bought H&M superskinnies - different end of the scale at £19.99 and they are fab. I'd avoid Citizens and Sevens as they stretch & go shap...

party entertainer for 2 year old?

Hi, Just found out that Tin Pan Annie don't do parties anymore - my little one worships Susie so had hoped we could have her for her 2nd birthday. Does anyone have any recommendations for something similar? Nothing spectacular, just someone who can keep 2 and 3 year olds happy for an hour? Thanks v ...

Re: Counselling after traumatic bith in preparation for upco

I know exactly how you feel - I too had a horrific emergency c-section at C&W first time round. I agree with others - you need to get a full debrief, and don't bother with the perinatal services (basically a psychiatrist who deals with traumatised mothers after birth). I was referred to them and...

Re: Victorian front path restoration

I got a quote for just tiles from London Mosaic based off Acre Lane & it was v. v. expensive... My builder said you can get them off eBay, haven't looked yet though.

Re: Any Dolphin School mums? Advice please!

Hi Petal, I'm not a Dolphin mum, but I, like you, visited it this year to look at it as a plan B in case (as is likely) we don't get into a good school. I also loved the general vibe, loved the headmistress & her attitude to the kids, but was unsure about the building. I didn't think the basemen...
