Re: good local beer gardens with children?

The Latchmere in Battersea is very family friendly and used to have a kids play area in the beer garden out the back (not sure if it's still there). Very close to Battersea Park too..
Agree with the other poster that The Windmill is wonderful too!

Re: Balham Sainsbury's shoppers outraged by receipt scanning at store

Having recently moved from 'Nappy Valley' to a Scandinavian country, I can tell you it is very common here and standard practise in most grocery stores, regardless of location or particular supermarket company.  Nobody seems to be bothered by it, it's just something new to get used to.  Only annoyin...

Re: Party entertainment for 3 y olds

Hi, we had an outdoor picnic party for my 3-year old in Clapham Common and used this lady (Jenny - link below) to facepaint and make balloons.  She was brilliant and I thoroughly recommend her.  The kids loved it and the party was a  great success with a very happy 3-year old.  https://www.artycatfa...

Looking for accomodation 27th-30th May

Hi,

Looking for a place to rent for 3 nights in the area for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 4,6).  Have left if quite late and the usual air bnb and local hotels are booked.  We are former long-term residents of SW11 but now living abroad so know the area well!  Budget up to £300 per night.
Thanks!

Re: Uppa Baby Vista on tube/trains

Hello! The Vista is promblematic on buses due to the large base - the Uppababy Cruz model is much better.  However, I don't think the Cruz comes in a double format.  Due to this many have Vista and do get around okay, it's just a hassle sometimes!  Don't spend the money on a new pram, just be prepar...

Re: Used toys in excellent condition to donate - looking for collections for families in need or similar

I took some to the Evelina Children's hospital a few years back, which I think the play therapy department could make use of.  Could be worth checking if they would like them.
And, of course, Little Village is a brilliant charity which Doctormum mentioned.

I can highly recommend Noah's Ark Nursery in Cobham Close, just off Northcote Road.  It's wonderful....and no it's definitely not too late.

Re: are free standing egg shaped bathtubs comfortable

I lived in a house with a traditional bath and an 'egg' bath.  The egg bath looked great but wasn't very practical so only the other bath was used!

Re: Suggestions for low-maintenance houseplants?

I second Patch Plants. They have sections such as "unkillable" indoor plants etc. I have filled my house with plants based on the advice on their website and the majority have survived!!!
