Re: Rude manager at Nail Dress on Northcote

Have only had really good experiences at Nail Dress.  The manager's english is not perfect so maybe something got lost in translation - but she has always been polite even when they are really busy. It's too easy to post negative feedback without knowing what happened and I hope this doesn't discour...

Re: massive £20/13% increase in Spencer Cricket fees for 2022

Broomwood and Ironsides are both run by parents while at Spencer have professional coaches so not comparable I think? Most of the year groups are starting winter nets now in January so it’s not 13 sessions ? Plus all the Sunday matches ? Spencer’s fee had been flat for years so I think an increase w...

Re: Private school bursary

I believe (and i could be completely wrong) that bursary are offered more at secondary schools than primaries.  Whitgift and Trinity have a particularly amazing bursary programme and that would definitely be my starting point.  I think at Whigift 40% of pupils are on financial assistance so you defi...

Re: Thomas' Parents please don't park on street corners

I think one of the questions on the Thomas' Clapham application form must be "Do you own a 4 wheel drive?" 😉 Joking apart i live on one of the roads nearby and I can confirm it is a nightmare and the school parents have zero consideration for residents or pedestrians.  We have never had an...

Re: Dangerous driving in Wandsworth

I completely agree Denward!

Deveroux and Hillier have the same bumps and it is impossible to go fast

Re: Dangerous driving in Wandsworth

One way systems would allow drivers to drive even faster ! Lavender gardens is one way and I was behind a driver last week that was going at least at 60kmph ! No no no to one ways. I would rather have road rage! As for the OP great initiative. I have asked and asked the council for bigger speed bump...

Re: Putney High Junior School Vs. Thomas's Clapham

It’s a 6 minutes train ride journey to Putney from Clapham junction. And then a 5 minute walk up the hill. Much easier by train.

Save yourself the nightmare of 11+ and go for PH!

Re: Bad experience with Simon Yeo from Ninjakids

@chorister I completely agree.

Horrendous to try and destroy a small business and someone’s livelihood like this. And everyone piling in without even knowing what this venue looks like or the exact details.

Social media at its worst. I had a bad experience and I want to air my anger to the world.

Re: NHS alert issued for children

And I should apologise for my slightly abrupt reaction! I am just exasperated by the amount of Daily Mail (a newspaper that I despise with all my heart) articles I receive from various whatsapp groups. That paper is just designed to create fear and sensationalise stories ! Apologies and thank you fo...

Re: NHS alert issued for children

This sounds like it straight from the toe rag newspaper the Daily Mail.

Sure enough - just did a quick google and the Daily trash has it as its front line headline.  Sky news and BBC News don't even have it in their main stories.

Usual Daily Trash scaremongering.

Re: School fees for next term

Completely agree with the poster above.  I would hope that no teachers / caterers / ground staff loose any income but schools in my opinion should give a small discount as clearly the service provided is not what people sacrifice to pay for.  My children schools have done between 10% and 15%.  And w...

Re: School fees for next term

The difference being of course that Thomas’ Clapham is a business not a trust. And as such their main interest is making money.

Sad truth. I made the mistake of sending one of my children to an independent school that was a business and never again!
