A restaurant is entitled to implement any policy they like regarding under 18s, since there are licensing issues involved, as well as simple targeting of a particular clientele. I have twice used Alex Shoe Repairs on Lavender Hill after reading a great review online. Both times they have done what I was told was either impossible or really expensive, and they've done it quickly and affordably. Highly recommend.

I suspect there's a vital piece of information left out of the story: where was the pram? It's often not the babies themselves that cause the problems in restaurants. Prams and pushchairs block pathways and restrict access to tables. The waitstaff were probably trying to get the restaurant ready for...
