4) threaten that if they do not stop at at least one marker at some point on the way down you will make them wear those ridiculous ear / antennae things attached to their helmet (also have very competitive boy aged 9!)

I had researched into somewhere we could go after a week sightseeing in Athens. Sani seemed ideal - white sand, sea which stays shallow a long way out, beautiful marina, ...

I used to take mine to Putney leisure centre, which we loved. The teaching pool is not too shallow & as it is completely separate from the main pool there were only little ones with their parents in it. However, that was some years ago so you would have to check availability now, it was occasion...
