Re: Two closures on Bellevue Road?

A little off topic but, the Northcote road has this exact problem as well. people apparently want independent shops but do not use them, there's 2 shops going/gone on Northcote this month and Archie Foal the gorgeous luxury knit market stall went the other month. People need to start shopping locall...

Re: Movers & Packers recommendation (URGENT!)

Don't use white van gentlemen! We made that mistake. The van broke down meaning we had to make extra trips in our car. There was obviously no feed back between the guy who came to give the quote and the men who came on the day... Was absolutely dreadful

Re: Toddler nightmares - books about coping with monsters et

I can't help with books, but I had a similar problem with the big bad wolf. We have a cat, so the cat scares away big bad wolfs, or we talk about big bad wolves living in a different country or a forest. A nightlight can be helpful as shadows of objects can look scary. Any book that sees monsters be...

Re: London activities

The Horniman museum is fantastic and so many people don't even know it exists. Very child friendly, for toddlers and under their aquirium is better than the big one. They change their hands on exhibition regularly, on a sunny day they have a fantastic outdoor area with a music area, petting zoo and ...

Re: Nursery school or day nursery??

Hi, If you have the money I think the nanny/ nursery school is a million times better. I am a nanny who trained in many nurseries and really dislike them and have yet to find one I would be happy to send my children to. But with the nanny you would have to have her full time during the holidays as m...

Re: Live out nanny - how much?

Have you thought about a Norland Probationer? They have studied at Norland college and wages are 23-28k a year gross? Or 17k gross live in?

Re: Is it common for nannies to have a work phone ?

As a nanny I am also shocked by this. You are paying her £200 a month more than normal. I have never been given any money for my phone. If she has a contract or even pay as you go you get free messages and minutes these days. I text my employer 2 or 3 times a day even sending pictures which I pay fo...

Re: Nanny transport costs - to get to work???

I'm starting a new job and as part of my package I'm getting a fully paid Oyster card. But I have never had travel costs paid before. Depends on the contract.

Re: How much would you pay your nanny to do the whole night?

If your children sleep well and don't normally wake up during the night most parents will pay around 50/60 or half the hourly wage. If your children don't sleep and the nanny will be up all night with the children then I think it is far to pay full wages per hour.

Hi everyone, I'm a Norland nanny looking to go into a different area of childcare. I have worked as a nanny for 10 years with all different ages of children, different families, twins etc. I have a 2:1 in early childhood studies, an Nvq level 3 and have also completed qualifications in sleep trainin...

Re: Being chased by a debt collector hired by a nanny agency

I am very confused by this. I helped run a nanny agency and we got out money after a successful nanny had been employed by a family? Definitely check terms and conditions as these should legally be on their website.
