Re: Council formally objects to plan for ‘noisy’ Clapham Common music festival

As a Lambeth resident I agree with the objection. Please don't think that we aren't conscious of the impact on the Wandsworth side. We also have to tolerate Clapham High Street becoming a noisy vomit-splattered hellhole for the duration of the festival. I hope they rein it back in.

Re: excessive noise - Weekender festival clapham common

Apparently the noise limits were increased for this year :( As a Lambeth resident, I can't say that we particularly feel the benefit of these festivals and I don't really agree with huge swathes of the Common being blocked off. It must be very frustrating to feel disempowered as a Wandsworth residen...

We are looking for someone to share our nanny!

We have two girls (almost 4 and just 2) and are based in Clapham. We are looking for someone to share with us, preferably with just one child. Our elder daughter starts school in September so the majority of the time will be spent with our younger child. Are you interested? The share could start any...

Would you like to share our nanny?

Re: SW London mum drives 4x4 at cyclist and crashes into sho

I think the fact that she has a previous conviction for drink driving tells you exactly what sort of person she is. I hope they come down on her really hard.

Re: Would you take an au pair for a 10 month old?

Absolutely not.

I was always told that au pairs shouldn't have sole charge of children under 3 (not 2, as some people have said on here). Has that changed?

You could consider a nanny share?

Re: How much should I pay an au pair

Hello Herculesmum My friend and colleague who has used au pairs for years sent me this: An au pair/au pair plus is a young person aged between 17 and 27 who provides childcare in exchange for living with a family abroad. Au pairs usually come to England to gain a greater understanding of English and...

Re: Boy's name- James or Rory

They are both lovely names. Which sounds better with their surname? And James has lots of shortenings (Jamie, Jim and the like). Would you be happy with those? We had two potential names for both of my daughters. I took my mother's advice and waited until I clapped eyes on them for the first time to...

Re: Lawyer who publically shamed law partner on Linkedin

I don't think she overreacted at all. It's downright creepy for one professional to comment on another's appearance on LinkedIn. It's not Tinder. The real sexism has started since she outed him. The Telegraph published an article about how she sent a nasty email to her grandmother ... what has that ...

Re: Husband has visited escort- advice please

What an awful thing to have happened to you. I'm so sorry. I honestly wouldn't go down the 'amateur detective' route. That is not healthy and won't allow you to move forwards. What's done is done. There's no point opening the wound over and over again. I know it's hard but, having had serious crisis...

Re: Controversial question regarding faith schools

If you replace 'local Catholic' with 'local taxpayers' then it's clear why people find this discrimination unpalatable. If a school is 100% funded by the church, then they can admit who they like. If it is state-funded, any local child has the right to attend. It's simple. You are also pre-supposing...
