4yr old boy wants to wear a dress at Halloween

Wondering whether I can get some really honest (and non-judgemental) opinions from other parents... My son's not a massive fan of playing dress up, but he does like dressing up in one of the princess dresses at nursery. That's fine, I totally don't have a problem with it. We're going to a halloween ...

Stuck in a rut and seeking career advice...

Hi wise mums. Hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction. I'm stuck in a severe career rut, and really considering a change. But I have no idea where to start. I've got 10+ years experience working in the city but have been running my own business (investment marketing) for 4 year...

Re: Stasi service at local restaurant

Wow. just wow. Gobsmacked at this thread.

Will be stopping at this cafe for coffee when on Northcote Road as the owner's response is unfailingly professional. I think I would have struggled to keep my cool like he did :)

Re: Participant needed for market research (will pay £50)

Just to say I think I've found someone (thanks to the power of nappyvalley.net - this website is just awesome). However, if anyone else is interested in helping in research projects of this kind and wants to be considered for future projects, please do PM me and hopefully I'll have more in the pipel...

Participant needed for market research (will pay £50)

Bit off my usual topics, but I desperately need to recruit someone to test a market research project I'm working on for a client. It's to test a brochure for a financial product to see whether it's well understood and explains the product clearly. Basically, I'm looking for someone who: - Is an exis...

Re: Laser Eye Surgery

I had both eyes done at Accuvision (Parsons Green) a year ago on a recommendation from a friend. Can't recommend them highly enough - the consultation was amazing - they were so thorough and talked through the process to really help me understand it! They will also be totally honest with you about w...

Acupuncture / alternative medicine recommendations

Hi, wondering whether anyone has any recommendations for acupuncture in or around SW18 (considering Cure by Nature in Southfields at the moment, but only because it's the most convenient to where I live...). Basically, I'm at my wits end after suffering from hives and facial swelling for the past 6 ...

Re: Steam rooms

We have a Mr Steam which is lovely - although must be honest we don't use it as much as we expected. It was already installed when we moved into our house, so can't provide recommendations for fitters. If you do go ahead with one, I would strongly recommend getting a control downstairs, so you can t...

Re: My husbands is looking like his father and its not good!

You are definitely not alone... I have the same issues! It's not just the way he looks but his mannerisms that are morphing into those of his father too... although must admit the most disconcerting things for me are the wayward eyebrows... know it sounds silly, but both of them have the most ridicu...

Re: Day Nursery / Nursery Schools in Earlsfield area

Barn Owls in Southfields (just off Merton Road) is awesome, but not sure what the waiting list is like. There are another couple of great nurseries in the Southfields Grid, but again, think the waiting lists can be a bit of an issue. Good luck!

Re: What's Southfields like? Good place to live?

Southfields is amazing! We stumbled across it 4 years ago as an alternative to Balham and we're so glad we made the decision to buy here. Schools are great (catchments are small but looks like you have that covered), you have lots of great parks within walking distance, you have good transport links...

Re: Sleep deprived mummy needs help!

Hi, I too know how you are feeling and thought I'd jot down some of the things we tried / were advised to try in case any of them help you at all. Sorry - it's quite a list, but it's such an awful feeling being deprived of sleep and I know how desperate it can be! First, from your post, it sounds li...
